Visitation of ASHPA Chairman to Panthou PHCC, Makuei Alel & Akach PHCU

June 2024, the chairperson of Aweil South Health Professionals Association
(ASHPA), Mr. James Lual Akech had an official inspection of the Panthou PHCC to
confirm the completion of the medical male and female ward, he had a meeting
with the chairman of the Construction Committee Mr. John Deng Deng during his
visitation.
The
committee mentioned several challenges that were faced during the construction
of these two wards. These challenges include the outstanding bill as well as
challenges aroused among members of the resource mobilization committee.However,
the two medical wards shall be put into use as soon as the beds and mattresses
pledged by, H.E Tong Akeen the Governor of NBG are brought.Comrade James
Lual Akech the chairperson of ASPHA appreciated the work of the Construction Committee
for their commitment since its interception. Mr. James applauded the team for
their tireless efforts and encouraged them to continue with the same spirit.Henceforward,
Mr. James directed the ASHPA Resource Mobilization Committee led by comrade William
Deng Lual Deng to provide 70 bedsheets for the two wards for easy provision of
medical services in Panthou PHCC.On
another note, the chairperson had a tour of Akach PHCU and Makuei Alel PHCU
respectively, his visitation was designed to promote and build a strong link
between ASHPA and Staff in the facility. During his tour, he identified the gap
in the two health facilities, including the lack of qualified midwives in Akach
and Makuei Alel PHCU. The community in Akach already initiated fundraising for
the renovation of the Akach PHCU, he (James) chairman of ASPHA promised to
support community initiatives to ensure all stakeholders are fully engaged in
community development activities and people enjoy quality health services. The
CHD also said he would provide pre-referral doses to all hard-to-reach places
within Aweil South County.Furthermore,
the County Health Director agreed and promised that in the new budget or case
of a new grant, they will employ qualified nurses and midwives in all the
facilities in Aweil South County.ASHPA
