Condolence message to the family OF late Dominic Athain Dut (Madingdit) Dear all The leadership of ASHPA and its members are in dismay to learn untimely demise of their Colleague in Health Professionals Dominic Athain Dut, Aka Athain Madingdit he had sacrifice himself to help Aweil community for decades. He Served as Director General (DG) in The State Ministry of health Northern Bahr el Gzahel, BHI Manager and Consultant for Mosquito net Distribution for Greater Upper Nile Region, He also served as the County health Director in Aweil west. His desire to work complex in the community is unexplainable, losing a brilliant and kind soul person is His until demise will create a great gap to the Ministry of Health, immediately family as well as Northern Bahr el Ghazel State and South Sudan at Large. Visitation of ASHPA Chairman to Panthou PHCC, Makuei Alel & Akach PHCU On 14th June 2024, the chairperson of Aweil South Health Professionals Association (ASHPA), Mr. James Lual Akech had an official inspection of the Panthou PHCC to confirm the completion of the medical male and female ward, he had a meeting with the chairman of the Construction Committee Mr. John Deng Deng during his visitation. The committee mentioned several challenges that were faced during the construction of these two wards. These challenges include the outstanding bill as well as challenges aroused among members of the resource mobilization committee. However, the two medical wards shall be put into use as soon as the beds and mattresses pledged by, H.E Tong Akeen the Governor of NBG are brought. Comrade James Lual Akech the chairperson of ASPHA appreciated the work of the Construction Committee for their commitment since its interception. Mr. James applauded the team for their tireless efforts and encouraged them to continue with the same spirit. Henceforward, Mr. James directed the ASHPA Resource Mobilization Committee led by comrade William Deng Lual Deng to provide 70 bedsheets for the two wards for easy provision of medical services in Panthou PHCC. On another note, the chairperson had a tour of Akach PHCU and Makuei Alel PHCU respectively, his visitation was designed to promote and build a strong link between ASHPA and Staff in the facility. During his tour, he identified the gap in the two health facilities, including the lack of qualified midwives in Akach and Makuei Alel PHCU. The community in Akach already initiated fundraising for the renovation of the Akach PHCU, he (James) chairman of ASPHA promised to support community initiatives to ensure all stakeholders are fully engaged in community development activities and people enjoy quality health services. The CHD also said he would provide pre-referral doses to all hard-to-reach places within Aweil South County. Furthermore, the County Health Director agreed and promised that in the new budget or case of a new grant, they will employ qualified nurses and midwives in all the facilities in Aweil South County. ASHPA aims to foster quality health services and strengthen the work of health professionals through information sharing, preserving medical ethics and morality, promoting health education and socio-economic improvement at the county Health Department (CHD) With a Mission to inspire hope and contribute to health and well-being by providing the best care to every patient through integrated clinical practice, education, and research. ASHPA EXECUTIVE RESOLUTION ON THE CHANNELING OF THE PREVIOUS RESOURCES COLLECTED FOR MEDICAL SUPPLIES PURCHASE TO PANTHOU MALE AND FEMALE WARD PROJECT Dear All, Following the ASHPA Executives meeting held on Friday 22nd September 2023, the executive body resolved that the previous resources collected for Medical supplies purchased for Aweil South Health Facilities should be channeled into the construction of male and female wards. The resolution came up as a result of the continued provision of medical services by Nation MoH and Health partners to Health facilities in Aweil South County. We have seen that the construction of male and female wards in Panthou has a valuable impact than just the mere provision of medical supplies that is not sustainable. As the leadership of ASHPA, we are reaching out to well wishes and good Samaritans for more support to enable ASPHA and the Community to complete the construction of male and female wards in Panthou. We have witnessed that the construction of female and male wards will bring comfort and confidence to patients who are currently sharing the same ward. ASHPA And CHD , Aweil South Signed Five Years Memorandum of Understanding For Social Projects as Partner organization On Thursday 21 September 2023 at The County Headquarter , The CHD under the leadership of Kout Pel Pel has signed a memorandum of understanding with ASHPA’s deputy Chairman, William Kuel Kuel. The contents in the MOU clearly defines how the parties will work together and lay out each one’s expectations and responsibilities. The goal is to achieve a mutual understanding of the partnership, so the two parties to the agreement can move forward into an enforceable contract everyone feels confident about. The objective of this MOU is to express the willingness of both parties to engage in an effort to promote the competitiveness of Aweil South Health professionals association as well as it’s activities to develop and expand relationships with Aweil South County Health Department. In order to carry out and fulfill the aims of this agreement, each party will appoint an appropriate person(s) to represent its organization and to coordinate the implementation of activities. The CHD and ASHPA leadership will meet regularly (preferably with two days’ notice) to discuss progress and plan activities. Addendums to this MOU will be developed for specific technical support and other activities. These Addendums will provide a detailed description of the role, responsibility and obligation of each party. Work plans and reporting requirements will be cclearly outlined in the Addendums. Each party agrees that it shall not, at any time, after executing the activities of this MOU, disclose any information in relation to these activities or the affairs of business or method of carrying on the business of the other without consent of both parties. This MOU shall be operational upon signing and will have an initial duration of Five years. Construction of Both Female and Male Wards in Panthou PHCC On Wednesday 13 September 2023, the commissioner of Aweil South Hon Luka Thel has witnessed the launching of the Foundation for the construction of Both Females and Males Ward in Panthou Primary health care center. During the meeting, it was resolved that this initiative will materialise through the support of local government in collaboration with Aweil South Health professionals association. As far as this issue is concerned, the foundation is already laid and an amount of 1.9 millions SSP was contributed after the meeting and more contributions are coming. We are appealing to our members and well wishers to help us in implementing this initiative. Panthou PHCC is the only referral health facility in Aweil South County.
